its wierd to me that the same people saying cancel culture is a right wing fabrication also cry that right wingers tried to cancel (unsuccessfully) people like Jimmy Kimmel, while others have been successfully canceled (rightfully so) and many more have been simply diminished in their success. but the 4d chess is silly to even read, "well no one's saying they can't have some job, we just wanted them removed from the movie, and the producers didn't have to listen, plus they already have money from previous jobs. and someone can hire them, we'll just complain so loud that they will be fired. also remove them from these organizations and councils. but cancel culture doesn't exist, just like welfare queens, MS13, gang members, and anti white racism."

JK basically says "i'm a proud woman, and if i want to include a vagina in my view of feminism that should be ok", echoing many who feel that trans narratives can be exclusionary to some narratives of feminism who seek to combat shame historically attributed to female genitalia, menstruation, etc.

and now she's told she has a "conservative view of transgender issues". no, a "conservative view" is "your gender identity isn't real" not "this is how i feel but ill still march with you if you're being discriminated against".

I think theres a large overlap between the loudest voices on tumblr and the loudest voices on twitter. So much garbage on social media over her comments.

I mean, even people who got "cancelled" haven't totally lost their careers even if they lost a job over it. Kevin Hart didn't get to host the oscars, but he's still signing onto movies and whatnot. JK Rowling has been cancelled like 15 times and it doesn't seem to do much to her.

The "canceling" has been done for pretty much all of American history. I mean, we've literally had banned books lists in schools. Whether it's good or bad, this is normal behavior for any society. The only reason there's a word for it like "cancel culture" is because the right has lost their cultural influence and needs to pretend it's some demon the libs made.

1. where did the silly idea that if you lose work or money or w/e it doesn't "count as canceling" because you "still can have a job". that's dumb, whether its a cancelled acting job, a cancelled appearance, or just lost fans. all of this is canceling, there's no threshold that requires utter loss of relevancy, life, and work prospects. "hey sexual assult victim, at least u didnt get raped". like wtf is that? and why do i hear it so often.

2. "its existed forever" is a garbage argument that i hear too often too, so has covid, opium deaths, rape, etc. when something goes haywire and a massive rate changes occur it's noteworthy, even if it's justified.

i think honestly some people are just so scared and have such a moral highground that they're just going to forever say "ok ok ok ok ok ok ok" when trans people want to rapidly change language. it's stupid. let's focus on protecting workplace rights, housing rights, etc. instead of having 4 hour circular arguments about the "male vagina and female penis". do what u want in your bedroom, wear what you want in public, shit/piss wherever u want. within reason. dont tell me that my views of being a man are invalid or transphobic, dont tell my wife that overcoming societies shame around her vagina and being proud of it as a woman makes her transphobic. if that's your viewpoint fuck off, plain and simple.
