Was there no trespassing signs posted? Or a verbal no trespassing warning given? I think if you caught someone on a property given a no-trespass sign or verbal warning, then you could argue intent to steal. Black + on construction site = intent? I've walked onto 3 sites within the last week and vacant lots. If there are no no trespass signs, I'm walk all over that shit.

Larry English, the man who owns the house under construction, told The Washington Post that the structure was not robbed.

“That’s completely wrong. I’ve never had a police report or anything stolen from my property, or any kind of robbery,” he said.

Goomshill FUD-ing all over the thread.

No burglary took place. And even if Arbery had burgled the place, the McMichaels did not witness it happen. Which afaik means they had zero legal basis for a citizen's arrest.

Quality spin

how do you know it's not true? i mean, let's not kid ourselves, if the guy was white and the murderers black, you wouldn't even think about questioning it - not that it's even really relevant, considering the whole 'burglary' angle is just a transparent attempt by racist scum to justify blatant murder...

given that we still know very little about the specifics it's none the less apparent that some wannabe do-gooders approached someone with guns out to try for a vigilante arrest.

Even if this guy turns out to be a burglar, kiddie diddler, and vegan pineapple cauliflower pizza chef they still approached someone with guns drawn to try and make a violent citizens arrest. charges for this alone are warranted. dont take the law into your own hands unless your safety is in danger. dont roam streets with guns, even if you're an ex cop or off duty cop.

that type of behavior should be criminal especially from right wingers who claim to be pro police and pro gun rights. they bypassed the police to put law abiding gun owners rights at risk. i think a minimum of a sentence of 1 year of brutal treatment from a largely black prison population should set them straight.

Honestly, I really doubt that these dudes were wannabe good guys. Imho, it's more likely that they are two racists who actively wanted to catch and rough up a nig.. ... an african american gentlemen who had the audacity to set a foot into their neighborhood. The whole "we are just two alert citizens who wanted to prevent a crime"-angle is just a transparent bullshit excuse to act out their lynching fantasies.

Yeah if some non polices officers with guns tell me to stop I am the fuck out of there.

Do I understand these guys didn't actually witness a crime?

The fuck?

I don't see a no trespassing sign posted anywhere on my rich neighbors lawn nor has he ever told me not to go in his house, so i'm going to wonder in there today when he's not home.

Is your neighbors house a non-liveable construction site with rough in door and windows?

whether you're a police officer or a redneck wannabe your biases will come into play. there's far too many cops even that are eager to enforce the law which leads to them searching for law breaking rather than responding to reports of law breaking. police are here to react to citizen reports and enforce traffic. active investigation should be relegated to high crime areas, which are mapped by responding to reports.

but i quite agree, my gut tells me these are just plain old racists who deserve a long prison sentence or even higher penalties. and should never own a gun again. they give a bad name to lawful gun owners.

construction contractors regularly rob their customers in bullshit underbid time and materials, late to be change-ordered. if they lose a few nails from some brotha walking up and grabbing a handful fuck em. if there's one profession i truly dislike its contractors. dealing with them personally and professionally has shown me there are very few good ones. and the ones who are good get fucked into toeing the line of shitty bids elsewise they go out of business.

Lets say it is. Does that distinction give me the right to go rummage through his shit?
