no agreed... One strange issue i have.. is I am NOT anti transgender or anything of the type..
I cannot in any form keep up with the terms/acronyms etc. doesn't make me anti, means I'm fucking busy and my life is not theirs..
I have no idea how and when terms change.. I have been yelled at a few times because I don't understand the terminology some people prefer to be addressed as. ( no offense to them but I am also not going to spend my time tracking this issue)
They get what they get from me.. i guess
Trans movements are burdened by success. Gays had to wait thousands of years for the type of societal acceptance that Trans people got in a few short decades. and sure, there were "trans" people for hundreds of years. but they weren't known of as a distinct group in the lexicon until very recently. hormone replacement and gender reassignment are new as well, etc. So many trans people who are in their 20s and 30s grew up incredibly marginalized, not accepted in school or their family etc. then in short order they were told use w/e bathroom u want no one really cares, Caitlyn Jenner was named woman of the year, prominent trans TV and movie actors emerged, nations created councils to try and accommodate them for hate crimes and injustices, sports even begun to allow M2F participants, trans porn was normalized to a degree, trans was separated from being "just gay", etc.
but when you've been fighting an uphill battle all your life it's hard to hit the brakes on the way down after clearing the ridge. so they find new battles, and even though they're just rounding up troops on the retreat they fight as hard as if it's still a full on war. you not recognizing a term you didnt even know is just as bad to them as someone 10 years ago calling them a he-she that should just be gay and live with their god given penis.
