That chart is extremely innacurate because its using the peak of btc as a reference.
That rise shown in mid 2013 was MASSIVE, if it was showing percentage rises instead of dollar value a much truer picture would emerge.

BTC was crap almost twice as long as it's been worth anything... there was no way to KNOW.

/e What great occurrence took place in Dec 2017, that anyone could see coming?

Japan made bitcoin a legal currency, that is where the rise started, it was well before december.

Is your point that millennials have more opportunity because a couple got rich off bitcoin?

Smart boomers got rich off bitcoin too.

I give you credit for buying the "right" real estate, I guess, but the rest is the same as winning in Vegas... there was NEVER an indiction or reason for BTC to soar like it did.

As I said...95% of the coins are a waste of money.

/e In fact, all indications were/are that the regular money handlers would quash it.

It becoming legal currency in a country of 126 million was not an indication?
Funny, i bought more when that happened.
You missing everything does not mean no one was able to speculate based on the trends at the time.

You look at a stock like Intel, let's say... and one could reasonably assume that computing devices would become mainstream one day. There's nothing to do with BTC to suggest that it would soar. As for some countries and/or businesses making it legal tender...after it soared, that doesn't count as an indicator before it soared.

There is no more indication that it would soar than there is in a Thursday night poker game would bringing massive winnings. It's pure luck.

You asked why there was a huge rise in DECEMBER 2017..
Japan legalised it in APRIL 2017.
Australia banned online poker/slots also and btc was one of our only ways to still play them.

Yeah, I'll need a link for that.

/e And even IF it was legalized in Japan in April 2017....that didn't affect the 4 years prior.

That's one of those easily google-able facts we talked about. You can confirm it in 5 seconds and not look like a lazy POS who's unwilling to do even the most basic research about the subject he's trying to speak authoritatively on.

Dude, BTC was already climbing like a guy on Everest in April 2017. Four years prior...no indication.
