What? This is a sick joke right LOL. If anything she'd go independent like angus king. Maine hasnt had a dem senator since '94 i believe?

She votes with Republicans about 80% of the time...

manchin is voting with republicans 60% of the time in the trump era; and collins indeed is one of the least in-line republican senators. you can bet that collins doesnt actually believe in much more than 60% of the republican bills, but sticks to the party line on many less important occasions.

yes, she would probably go independent, but I think if she did that, she would caucus with the democrats like angus king and bernie sanders.

I live in maine. Collins will still get reelected, BUT, she WILL lose a lot of support from women who crossed the aisle to vote for her. Maine is all Red except for southern maine (york and cumberland counties are very blue) and a very small pocket around the capital (augusta).

A lot of liberals already had a sour taste in their mouths from when she voted for the tax scam, and this is even worse. She wont get nearly as much support from liberals/women in the future now.

Eyyyyy, I'm in Maine now too. Bangor. I met Angus King earlier this year and had no clue who he was (have been here only a year). He seemed confused.

Collins is significantly to the right of Angus King, and probably only slightly to the right of Manchin. And if she were independent, i'm no so sure she would caucus with the dems. Tough to say.

King is much more tough on Russia meddling in our elections than Susan Collins. I generally like King, but even he is pretty establishment, he's not really a Bernie Sanders or anything.

Yeah i actually recalled you mentioned you moved to maine in F&R subforum haha. I was up in Bangor last year for a kickass concert for at the waterfront pavilion thing. I'm about 2 hours+ away from Bangor. Ianarky@d2jsp is a mainer too i believe, tho not sure where. I think kayeto may be as well but he's dodgy on the subject idk why lol.

Murkowski probably more likely to vote against Kavanaugh then Collins TBH, she has more reasons too.

Maybe if she could convince Collins they could sink Kavanaugh?

I dont think the more conservative ~50% of their base would ever forgive them for wasting such an opportunity though.

Imho this is all just blabla so they appear to have struggled to confirm Kavanaugh to the more moderate half of their base.
