Pedophilia has a very specific definition which is abot attraction to the prepubescent human form. 12 is the federal legal age. When I was 14 in Georgia (1994), I was at the age of consent for the state as well. I'm not sure what it was in the 1980s where alleged event occurred, but it may not have even been considered illegal had it been a consensual age. Plus, no sex or sexual activity occurred in alleged encounter. The bigger issue could also have been the criminalization of homosexuality in the 1980s. In New York, it was decriminalized only in 1980. Much of the country didn't decriminalize until the 1990s
