Even if you don't like Bernie supporters, they are supporting a real progressive platform whereas the Clinton campaign represents the old, crony capitalistic establishment.

The Left is better for Bernie's support, not worse. Without Bernie, Hillary would basically be a Republican right now because she wouldn't have Bernie pulling her left.

Typically in a democracy, more choices is better. Without Bernie, we would only have Hillary to choose from since the GOP is a disaster. Well, functionally we only have Hillary to choose from, anyways.

A Hillary presidency is going to be quite bad and I don't expect any real progressive reforms to be brought in by her. You'd argue she is more practical than Bernie but I'd counter back with the evidence that suggests the political establishment of this country are not concerned with the wellbeing of the working and middle classes since about the 1970s.

if Bernie supporters were informed and truly progressive they would have expected more from him in the form of solutions and abandoned him when he failed to bring any to the table

true progressives would never consider the bernie or bust movement

true progressives wouldn't have resorted to sexism

true progressives would understand that getting some things done right is always better than getting nothing done at all

"true progressives wouldn't have resorted to sexism"

What has been sexist? If anything, Bernie supporters have been racist toward Black people, but sexist? Please explain.

Also, this idea that Hillary is better for the progressive movement than Bernie because she will actually get things done whereas Bernie is too impractical is baloney.

First of all, both of them will have to deal with a Republican Congress for at least their first term (probably). Secondly, any "progressive" reforms Hillary puts through and the GOP checks off will turn out not to be that progressive.

Wake me up when the political establishment does anything progressive for the working and middle classes. The ACA was fools' gold. HRC will be a poor man's Obama at best. And that's not terrible, but Obama was not a progressive president.

You are wanting me to post thousands and thousands of sexist personal attacks from Bernie bros or you are wanting me to show you surrogates using "democratic whore" or bringing up monica lewinsky as a dog whistle?

I find it hard to believe someone that follows politics doesn't know exactly what I am talking about but I guess accepting a strong presence of racism within a movement gives you a pass on sexism?

Just haven't seen the sexism you are referencing. I've seen some racism, but not sexism. And I self-identify as an equity feminist, so I think I tend to pick up on subtle sexism more than average.

It's not surprising to see a Hillary supporter cry sexism, though. What is ironic is that her campaign has been extremely focused on the fact that she is a woman. Her answer to questions about her financial corruption have been either "9/11" or "I'd be the first female president."

When they asked her how she would differ from Obama, she said, "I'd be the first female president." That's technically true, but isn't explaining actual differences between her and Obama or answering the real debate question.

As a feminist, I don't care what gender someone is when it comes to president. I just want the best person for the job. It's insulting to the feminist movement that Hillary has been plugging that she would be the first woman president in almost every rally and tough debate question.

I mean, it's cool she would be the first woman president, but that isn't a reason to vote for her.

You previous complaints of Bernie were somewhat substantive, but I think you should take a different angle other than sexism. Not only is the claim mostly false, but the claim is also about supporters rather than the candidate. Perhaps you didn't know how to respond to my working/middle class criticsms of the political establishment so then thought it was best to go after a criticism of supporters and cry sexism than put forth a substantive response.

look here bernie boy

I'm far from a feminist but when thousands and thousands of supporters and multiple surrogates of a man that claim to be for the people start flooding the internet with "whore, cu**,everything in between and start bringing up a woman that her husband banged 20 years ago that is exactly what sexism is.

Being the first woman President has incredible significance and if you think her bringing it up somehow excuses the shitbaggery in your failed revolution then I guess you are as full of shit about being a feminist as you are about being a true progressive

Your posts are usually pretty substantive and bring up good points about Bernie...but this....is a shitpost.

Being the first female president is a significant achievement but it isn't a good reason to vote for someone.

A good reason to vote for someone is because they are the most qualified candidate for the job. If you think Hillary fits that bill, then fine.

But I refuse to vote for someone because of their gender or some gender accomplishment if they win. That is the definition of sexism.

It's not surprising that she rolls out the "I'd be the first woman president" answer every time she is faced with a tough question or about her obvious financial corruption with Wall Street or lobbyists.
