I have a hard time believing that, through the stories of most religions, that jesus, or your mesiah is one person. The thought lingers that Jesus was a title, similar to that of a pope, of a religious leader.g. Listen it all makes a great story for me and if a large portion of Rome wasn't burned, more than likely leaving the useless fairy tails of an author named tacitus rather than historical documentation

Jesus is similiar to a long line of other religious figures. Long list of prophets that were born dec 25th, died and resurrected, had a star and kings signaling their birth, had 12 "followers" ect ect.

lol, lets always leave the original bible and scriptures open to interpretation so we can change shit every couple hundred years to better suite a modern civilization. Quite the debunkers.

Don't forget the dozens of other biblical stories that are similar to those of other religions, often times generations apart. All these things are easy to ignore when you use the "faith" excuse.

it's like having someone tell a story and as it's told to the next person and next person things change, sometimes to suite, sometimes by accident.

But I've read the bible, two versions, though extremely entertaining as a story, no righteous god would be so vindictive of this own children

i really like this part of New Atheism. please recite it again and again. :D

How about not mocking other people's (perfectly valid) opinions and perhaps offering a counter argument to constructively move this conversation along from shitflinging to an actual discussion.

The Zeitgeistian misinformation isn't very helpful.

Here's an actually good, scholarly presentation arguing against the historicity of Jesus. I'm not sure I agree with him, but it at least deserves consideration:
