Half of those are in NY. This shit is really dangerous b/c it's spreading like wildfire in a lot of other states.

WI "closed" as of today. but no real direction of what counts as "essential". and fucking Evers waited until monday, so calls to the gov office are like a 3 hour on hold time, only to probably be told "we're also not sure what essential businesses are". could have done it Fri after noon like Illinois, but no, let the weekend burn away and did it Monday morning. now its a frenzy.

Probably just took the weekend off.

I'm at a VA rotation now and I just love how big announcements and changes have come on Tuesdays. Weekend off, Monday board meeting, Tuesday announcement.

Really getting the sense of urgency here /s

Silver lining is that people have nowhere to be so they can stay and wait for 3 hours while watching netflix.

it reads to me like Evers and his office had a "we wont shut down" mindset so strong that they didnt even contingency plan for what a shutdown would look like. we have a lot of manufacturing plants here 100% unsure if they're considered essential or not. now im trying to coordinate with customers in 3 realities, what happens if we shut down and they dont, what happens if they shut down and we dont, and what happens if we both shut down. all plans going onto paper for all 3 with no idea what plan we'll use, could change hourly. and why? because Evers couldnt sit down and write out a list of industries he planned on keeping open? fucking lazy.

then again what do i expect from a governor who got in because he wasn't Scott Walker that has a GOP senate tying his hands. he hasnt even put forward legal pot, and most Dem voters expected that would be an immediate proposal from his office. he's honestly not done much of anything, and after a decade under walker the stagnant behavior is pretty odd.

Seems like Italy's new cases are down again. Hopefully they've experienced the worst of it!

They're higher than yesterdays new cases (although deaths are lower today than yesterday). Showing over 6000 new cases today.

Edit: I misread the column...this is not correct. See edit below.

What site are you using? I see 4700 new cases today: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

Nvm...I read the wrong column. You're right. I saw the number in the "total deaths" column, and my brain put it in the "new cases" one.

Derp. :)
