I watched the clip... nothing about "wear and tear" on the candidate. So unless it's somewhere else on CNN, you reposted a fundamentally dishonest tweet. Do better troll.

Putting aside the reality that America's system for electing a president is undemocratic to a certain extent... countries can elect leaders who are fundamentally damaging to their democracies. If enough Americans in the right states vote Trump, they are choosing decline. They don't see it that way, but it is what it is.

Telling someone to not be hyperfocused on politics on a political discussion forum is pretty hilarious though.

Democracy has it's short comings. There is such a thing as tyranny of the majority and that's why the founding fathers decided to go with a republic rather than a pure democracy. If people decide Trump deserves reelection then so be it. In 4 years it will be someone else and life will go on, no need to be hyperbolic with the end of the democracy posts.

This reminds me of 2016 when i seen someone reading a book on Hitler and subsequently he clutched at his pearls what will happen to the US if Trump is elected. When you're watching CNN or Fox all day everyday it's easy to think what they're covering is super pertinent and applicable on a personal level, when in reality it's not. You should get a gf or pick up fishing or something. Very quickly you'll find that politics doesn't actually matter that much in our life and you'll abandon 'if person x is elected then it's the end of life as we know it' posts.

We can still keep the Bill of Rights while allowing the president to get elected democratically. Like I said, I don't think it's hyperbolic to say another Trump term is a real threat to our democracy. There's "democracies" all around the world who still get to vote every few years... but their democratic institutions are weak.

Your "lol doesn't matter" shtick is boring and old. It's not an actual argument. So, if you want to rebut my arguments, go ahead. Otherwise, why are you wasting your time here?

You could just acknowledge that any progress by leftist standards has come as a result of voting for the more progressive party. It might make you feel more righteous to vote for irrelevant candidates, but it doesn't actually help progress.

Some next level logic.

We're fine, and we'll be fine if Trump wins again. You need to stop being so hyper focused on politics. The president has very little impact on the day to day life of the average person. Your governor and state legislatures have way more impact on real tangible things in your life.

I mean...Hitler was democratically elected, right? They aren't mutually exclusive.

And no, we are clearly NOT fine. Not only do we have a lot of problems with our government, PEOPLE fucking hate each other. That's not the kind of society we should be.

The thing about PotUS is that it’s not really that relevant of a position. Trump is a puppet of the legislature. A terrible, stupid, word vomiting puppet, but a puppet nonetheless. He hasn’t done anything McConnell hasn’t allowed him to. I vote strategically for congress and senate, and I always vote my heart and go third party for president because eventually it will open up ballot access to better parties.

He was democratically elected, so what? Do we know reject democracy because it doesn't have a 100% success rate or?

People hate each other because of how partisan and tribal people have become and that's not entirely on Trump the media is infinitely more culpable. Trump is the counter culture to the PC oppression Olympics that's become so prevalent. Dumb to think Trump is the lowest common denominator of hate while ignoring the barrage of hate on the other side.

We're fine chicken little, 4 years into Trumps presidency the country is still okay. Whether it's Trump or Biden who gets elected it will still be okay.

Your argument is trash based on TDS. Erhmerhgewd!! if Trump gets elected democracy over!! That's not an 'argument' nor is it worth a serious response.

I was pointing out that democracy can absolutely be in danger even if you democratically elect someone.

But yes, the PC oppression Olympics IS a problem. But guess what? Biden beat the fuck out of them. AOC, Ilhan Omar, etc. got almost no speaking time because they are cunts with no power. Instead, the Democrats gave REPUBLICANS more speaking time than them. All these Twitter cunts think they have more power than they actually do. That doesn't mean we shouldn't call them out, we should.

As for Trump, I think the right can and should have their counter balance. We just shouldn't have to settle for an incompetent, lying moron. Alas, it appears that the electorate actually values those things and THAT'S the danger.
