I dont think I know a single male that eats under 2000 calories a day.
SHAME MEEEEEE! SHAMMMEEEE MEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I happen to know. He used to be overweight for very long. Now he's lost weight and maintains at around 2000 with moderate levels of activity.

It's definitely not easy to eat that little for an extended period of time. Not overly hard either though if you have a good meal plan which you stick to. People also don't realize that when they're overweight and lose weight that the fat cells never go away so they need to maintain a larger deficit than someone who was never heavy in the first place.
Not sure what this means. Exersice will increase someone's bmr.
It's not overly hard but i as a person who can binge on whatever junk food quite frequently and stay in good shape would find it very frustrating. The cell count thing about formerly obese people is interesting. Have any extra insight to that?
To your bmr comment: you're doing exactly the same mistake he's pointing out which is assuming that the resting metabolic rate remains constant.
