The original disagreement was about Plaguefear saying that, roughly speaking, conservatives have no right to criticize the way the Dems have undermined Trump's presidency because of birtherism. To which I replied that birtherism never had nearly as much traction within the GOP ranks as the "Trump is a Russian asset"-theory had among Democrats. And also that birtherism did far less damage to Obama's presidency than the Mueller probe and Ukraine did to Trump's.
The Ukraine issue has basically been proven. The rough transcript outlines the quid pro quo, and documents and testimony backs it up.
Kavanaugh may have assaulted Blasey Ford. The other allegations were either suspect or completely meritless, but to pretend that it was just a 100% manufactured hit job is untrue. Democrats used her in a completely amoral cynical way of course.
The Mueller probe revealed behavior by Trump that would probably sink any other presidency. So the crocodile tears over how much it damaged his presidency are just amusing. It was a properly predicated investigation and there was good reason to question whether he was compromised in some way.
Obviously legitimate issues like Russiagate, Kavanaugh, and Ukraine are going to damage a presidency more than an illegitimate issue like birtherism. Also I think the Kavanaugh issue rallied conservatives around Trump. It helped him.
