What i find really funny is that the article state's once, offhandedly, that he's more well known and that's what the producer's stated as the reason. they dont address it, lay out the numbers, or mention it again. just a tiny blurb in an otherwise shitty article about feelings.

Dr who is a somewhat unknown / cult following type of show I think? I love it since I discovered it but the authors where probably hoping most people would have no idea who Matt smith is.

You pay more to people who are worth more. Feelings do not dictate worth.

Make more money for the company get paid more. Better known actor leading to more views does exactly that.

in the states among normal population Dr Who is a show you've heard of but isn't really that well loved. But it's got a strong cult following that's growing in the nerd underbelly. its got a lot of appeal based on how long the show has run as well. many TV shows u binge and then have to wait for a year to get new content. if you're finding Dr Who today you're happy to see its got more episodes than you can watch in a few years even if you binge it.

i've heard in the UK it's bigger but i cant say, maybe scaly or dro can vouch.

makes sense for him personally, no need to ride a character down into a hole. I don't think that it's offensive, especially as it marks a common path to success for indian people. I think the real problem in cases like this is the grassroots movement behind them is often made up of allies entirely rather than people who are of the ethnicity that's being defended. Hank says he'd support bringing in writers to rule out culturally offensive lines specifically, if the character itself is deemed culturally insensitive then the sjw's will get what they want. the only indian guy on the show removed because his very existence is too offensive.

Politically correct shows are very funny. This will be a great transition. Nothing should be funny anymore. It might hurt someone's feelings unknowingly.
