Wealthy, well-educated religious with high iqs are relatively rare.

Eh, there are a decent amount of them. They are the minority, but they are there.

But my main point is that IQ is correlated with wealth and education. Atheists are disproportionately wealthy and well educated.

So it isn't as much that religion and IQ are correlated because of the confounding variables of wealth and education.

That said, there probably is some smaller correlation between being religous and lower IQ. But I'm sure you understood my points the first time.

Of course religion folk are going to nitpick the 53 of the 63 studies, but is anyone really surprised by this result?

Atheists are disproportionately wealthier and better educated than their religious counterparts. Lots of confounding variables here.

A religious person who is just as wealthy and educated as the average atheist probably has a similar IQ.

So it's probably not as much of a correlation of IQ with religious/not religious as it is with wealth and education, but I'd argue there is at least some correlation there. It's probably not a lot, but it is there.

Depends if you're religious or not

Made me think of this speech by him.

Dunno why you're putting that up. It's irrelevant to most modern Christians.

Seems like Christians have an unhealthy obsession with posting scripture in here. I wonder what that says about their psychology.

Atheists leave the Christian Fellowship subforum alone for the most part, to my knowledge.

It's not irrelevant, the laws contained just don't apply to us.

For the most part... But that's more because mods hand out warns to anyone they even suspect of atheism that posts there. Which is fair enough imo. It's their space after all. Specifically set up so they can indulge their delusions without them being challenged.

We, as atheists, don't need a space like that. I'm happy to have my beliefs challenged. I'm confident that they are well justified and if there is some flaw in those justifications I'd want to know so I can rethink my position.

Probably either of these two:

1) They actually think they will convert atheists to Christians by posting in Atheist thread on a Diablo 2 trading website. Who knows, maybe this time will work. That is how religions spread, after all.

2) They like being contrarians and inviting conflict from people with different spiritual ideologies.
