Yeah I was watching a bunch of media with people reacting skeptically.
US intelligence has a long history of Saber rattling & spreading blatant lies to further western capital interests.
Putin has been able to stay in power for such a long time largely because of his savviness & ability to navigate situations like annexing Crimea, parts of Georgia, etc without much repercussions.
Those two factors alone are good grounds for skepticism.
Howevwr, I'd like to see anyone who isn't your typical neocon Warhawk that isn't surprised by the scale of the operation. Someone who was on the record beforehand saying something like the current actions were likely.
If you were really dialed into the situation I think there was a lot of merit to predicting a slow roll of Russian troops into separatist controlled areas.
the exact scope of the russian invasion isn't the topic though. camboy's claim was that the OP's skepticism was justified. OP outright denied there was even a threat of a russian invasion iirc. that was just blatantly wrong to anyone halfway informed and intelligent. it would have been wrong had russia not invaded at all, and it's even more so, undeniably so, now that they launched a full-blown invasion on ukraine.
let's be clear what we're talking about here. i'd be shocked if anyone outside of putin's head saw this coming as large-scale as it's currently unfolding - i sure didn't, but again, that's not the point here.
general skepticism towards american "intelligence" and corporate media: healthy and justified.
blatantly using their poor track record to downplay a universally acknowledged real threat: ignorant and / or dishonest.
denying the threat was never reasonable or intelligent, it always was being a useful idiot for russia.
