I always read the articles before I post them. The difference here is, I've learned over the years that these liberal, whiney, snowflake groups, are just that.

Nothing that voter ID will require is something that some other form of ID doesn't already require. Folks who want to be "off the grid" on a daily basis, probably aren't legal voters anyways.
There is really no need to be "off the grid" in the US unless you are a govt. agent, or are doing illegal things.

It's not lack of privacy, it's more like accountability. And when we are talking about voting...accountability is a good thing.

One more ID isn't giving up any more privacy. But it sure does make it harder to fake votes.

I think they call that id a licence. Does one not need to show a valid id to vote?

I would imagine a valid ID is required. Unfortunately having JUST a valid ID, doesn't mean you are able to vote...legally.
An illegal alien can get a drivers license, for example.

Maybe it would be easier if we added a field for Valid voter to the existing ids rather than creating a new one.

I doubt it would be easier. But that would work, as long as it was federally organized, unlike drivers licenses which are a state thing.
I think, when you consider all the legality problems with mixing state and fed...it would be easier, just to make a separate voter ID, that is handled federally, only.

seriously? my point concerning privacy and rights wasn't even about voter ID (which ofc is yet another ploy to target and disfranchise even more voters by creating a "solution" to a non-existing problem in order to keep certain people from voting, which should be one of your principle rights) but about the personal data and information this bs commission is trying to collect in order to "prove" something your emperor claims he already has reliable evidence for - something even many republicans disagree with.

for further information about voter ID you could read this: https://www.aclu.org/other/oppose-voter-id-legislation-fact-sheet

That BS commission, already has all your info...if you are a legal citizen, which is why voter ID is so important.
If you are an illegal alien, then you shouldn't even be here, let alone be able to vote.

/e Just the latest example of why we need voter ID in the US...

Second court rejects Trump bid to stop transgender military recruits

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-court-transgender/second-court-rejects-trump-bid-to-stop-transgender-military-recruits-idUSKBN1EH00R

The two courts’ actions could prompt the administration to ask the conservative-majority U.S. Supreme Court to intervene.

Also on Friday, a federal trial court in Riverside, California, blocked the ban while the case proceeds, making it the fourth to do so, after similar rulings in Baltimore, Seattle and Washington, D.C.

This is one of those times, I can't decide if the Supreme Court will decide for or against.
I would guess, when all is said and done, the decision will be that they are allowed in the military, but no transgender related operations will be allowed.
