Honestly, with Covid being the way it is and Trump supporters being so detached from reality I could see their turnout being really high compared to Biden voters who stay home because they're scared of Covid.

My biggest fear is that Trump wins on election night, and it takes 2+ weeks for mail in votes to get counted, and Trump uses that to say he's "stealing the election from us" and call for violence to keep him in office. Normally I'd say that's ridiculous, but it's literally what he's been doing with his slowing of the post office, calling into question mail in votes, and inciting violence at his rallies.

If a democracy loses it's peaceful transition it's done. The country will be abandoned by anybody who values stability.

I think that's what a lot of pundits have been saying for quite some time about November: "please let this not be close". I dont necessarily expect Trump to incite violence directly, but an endless litigation over mail-in ballots across half a dozen states would also do a ton of damage to American democracy. Both sides are probably already arranging an army of lawyers...

That said, ballot harvesting is indeed a travesty and needs to go.

Yeah, there are some basic things that can fix ballot harvesting, reasonably.

Require a SS number and signature, and some kind of seal that can't be broken upon receipt of the ballot or it gets rejected.

It would help if they didn't exclude IDs based on what race uses them, and close voting locations based on what race uses them, and everything else the right does when they try to implement voting IDs.
