Wouldn’t get your hopes up considering no one in the msm wants to even cover it and Buttgieg is minimizing it

They avoided reporting it and reported the Balloon for two weeks on MSM front page.
I wonder why.

You mean the right doesn't support environmental protections, and this is all performance art?

So lets see.

-Buttgieg the transportation secretary right after this happened was on tv and had nothing to say about it. Subsequently days later after we've seen the pictures/videos basically says thousands of trains derail every year so we need to do better, completely downplaying this case specifically as if it's the same as other ones.

-Biden turns down Ohio request for disaster assistance.

But your obsession here is some gotcha of how people on right feel about this? I mean the ones reporting it and saying the government is downplaying/suppressing it are mostly on the right so they're speaking up.

My obsession? Mike DeWine (R-OH) himself said that Biden called him directly and offered "anything you need", and DeWine declined for now.

Pete Buttgieg needs to get a consistent message out, for sure. But the rest is just BDS.

The thoughts and prayers offer by Biden is just that. This is what i've seen, i don't know maybe you have different sources?

The Biden administration turned down a request for federal disaster assistance from Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine in the aftermath of the train derailment in the state earlier this month that led to a large release of toxic chemicals.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) told Ohio's state government that it was not eligible for disaster assistance to help the community recover from the toxic spill, Dan Tierney, a spokesperson for DeWine, told Fox News Digital on Thursday. Tierney explained that FEMA believed the incident didn't qualify as a traditional disaster, such as a tornado or hurricane, for which it usually provides assistance.

"The DeWine Administration has been in daily contact with FEMA to discuss the need for federal support, however FEMA continues to tell Governor DeWine that Ohio is not eligible for assistance at this time," DeWine's office said in a statement earlier in the day. "Governor DeWine will continue working with FEMA to determine what assistance can be provided."

FEMA said that its team is in constant communication with DeWine's office, but didn't comment on the request for federal relief.

I mean, did you pull up that Twitter link I posted? Because it has video of DeWine's own press conference, with him saying in his own words, that Biden called and offered assistance, which DeWine has not taken him up on yet.

That conference was 2 days ago, the statement put out by his office is as of today. I'm still not really clear why you care more about what 'the right' thinks here instead of looking at how the authorities are responding.

So your contention is that Biden rescinded his offer of aid?

I don't understand what point you're trying to make if it's sometehing besides that.

The only thing I posted in this thread prior to this encounter is informative info from some key tweets. I had no interest in playing the partisan blame game. If he wants to focus and somehow shift this into partisan blaming, he should expect push back when it's obvious that the authorities are really the ones that haven't been doing enough.

Having read a few things about this accident now. It was mostly caused by a damaged axle that overheated and malfunctioning sensors that failed to pick up that over-heating. So while this is a environmental disaster it's mostly due to negligence on the side of the company.
