If someone commits an hateful act aimed at LGBT such as the one in this thread, the blame lies on them first and foremost. It’s called personal responsibility. She’s not calling for anyone to commit heinous acts against trans people, she’s expressing disgust at some of the stuff pushed on kids. There certainly are prominent people on Twitter openly pushing hate against trans people and she’s not one of them from what you showed. No matter how you twist and turn the argument around or stroke your ego, I’ve made my view clear. You can disagree and we can leave it at that.
e/ Why do you downplay your role in inciting hate on this forum with your regular flaming, name calling and incitement to suicide?
you're moving the goal post again. i neither said nor implied that boebert is legally responsible for this scumbag's actions. of course she isn't. she didn't kill anyone directly, to the best of my knowledge she didn't tell anyone to kill LGBT+ people directly, heck, i don't even know for sure if the murderer read HER tweets or followed her lead specifically. that is NOT the point i'm making though, and it's frankly shocking that you still haven't realised that, and rather insist on continuing to misrepresent my actual position.
again, for the slow crowd: the point is that
she has played a major role in pushing the baseless "groomer" narrative and general anti-LGBT+ sentiments. she's also a huge gun nut, opposing any kind of common sense regulation, which might very well have prevented the terrorist from obtaining the weapons that allowed him to kill and injure all those people. in short, she has a terrible political record on both issues central to this specific mass shooting, so she simply doesn't get to "thoughts and prayers" her way out of the situation. i'm not calling for her to get arrested or silenced or anything along those lines, i'm merely saying she was instrumental in promoting and platforming the latest surge of lies and hatred towards the LGBT+ community.
bill o'reilly also wasn't legally responsible for the murder of george tiller. he didn't pull the trigger, and he also didn't tell anyone specifically to go ahead and shoot the guy in the head. he "only" repeatedly used his show, watched by millions of conservatives, to target him, call him a "baby killer", tell outright lies and exaggerations to rile up his viewers, until one of them eventually murdered the guy.
yes, the likes of o'reilly and boebert don't technically do anything illegal. even they are "smart" (or well advised) enough to stop just short of that in what they explicitly say. that does, however, not mean that
people who push such lies and hatred on their massive public platforms aren't at least
morally co-responsible for increasing the likelihood of such acts. maybe look up what "stochastic terrorism" is, if you really still don't understand that concept...
now go ahead and clutch your pearls again, push your own lies and false equivalences, and pretend some randos calling each other names on jsp is the same (lol) - but i hope that even someone like you might just be intelligent enough to realise that's not even remotely true, even if you obviously don't have the character to ever admit that...
