So the only thing you've read on it is anachronistic meta bashing of T_D that doesn't care about the meat of the story?
Afaik, the only reason this biolab story became a significant story is because the left-wing MSM / social media / pundits decided to run so hard on lying about it and trying to censor people mentioning it. Like Mitt Romney pussyfooting around with calling Tulsi Gabbard a traitor deserving the death penalty for pointing out the facts of US funded biolabs in Ukraine. The Tucker Carlson coverage is notable because the first day he talked about it was specifically to point out how his studio reviewed the claims, disregarded them, and didn't bother to cover it because they couldn't verify or debunk it even while the MSM was screaming it was a hoax. Until Victoria Nuland got up under oath and confirmed it was real, opening that floodgate, but the MSM then continued to spout that its a hoax / conspiracy theory / propaganda anyway.
The actual substance of the story isn't particularly substantial. Former soviet territory still has leftover pathogens from days when USSR kept bioweapons there, now stored away in biolabs, and since Ukraine entered the western sphere of influence the US has had a compelling reason to fund security at these sites to prevent leaks or theft by terrorists or whatever. And that might give the Russians a valid argument to want to secure those facilities during the invasion, but not casus belli by any stretch of the imagination, and Ukraine could have quashed such fears by just disposing of their anthrax and plague and whatever. Then again, Ukraine spent the past few weeks calling up child soldiers to throw molotovs at tanks and shanghaiing refugees back into the warzones.
If the media didn't go out of its way to lie so blatantly and try to crucify people who call out the lies, the actual underlying story wouldn't be so controversial. And this is hardly the first example of that phenomenon. Its great to be retrospective on Rand Paul vs Anthony Fauci now that even the CDC admits cloth masks didn't do jack shit, which anyone with a brain knew all along.
@bold: Which is almost always the result of these subplots right-wingers focus on.... and that's why I didn't bother to look into it.
The right has to figure out an angle for every story, where they can focus the blame on one(or more) of the groups they hate(Democrats, media, darkies, etc). A tyrannical dictator who started a war doesn't get them going, so Tucker offered up some obscure nonsense, and now it's become a media story. Media Derangement Syndrome accounts for 90% of right-wing content ever since Comey swayed the election to Trump.
