He would definitely try 4 more. He has intimated as much many times.

He would need a Constitutional amendment, which can be blocked by as little as 13 state legislatures.

States assured of not helping Trump gain a 3rd term: HI, CA, OR, WA, IL, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, DE, ME, & MD.

On one hand, it'll be interesting to see what happens in this thread if/when the process completes and Trump loses.
On the other hand, it'll be interesting to see what happens in this thread if/when the process completes and Trump wins.

Either way, I predict an explosion here once we have a final result.

Trump winning might be the end of presidential elections lol. It would be the 3rd time very recently the president has lost the popular vote by a massive amount but the popular vote was sabotaged by the electoral college. This would likely be done through faithless electors in Georgia and Penn then douby so.

Too bad the BDS crowd spent the last week of a presidential election talking about Hunter's dick and photoshopping him on porn ads to be passed among QAnon loyal so that if someone searches #savethekids to donate to that cause you end up seeing BDS hunter porn ads.

They should have spent more effort trying to win the election rather than this much effort after the fact trying to rewrite three or four million votes they lost by.

Pretty sure Penn is past the margins of needing a recount...does Georgia even matter at this point?

Biden had such a handicap going in too. He shouldn't have stood a chance. Biden took the whole blue wall back.

penn has been called for the dems, which means the faithless electors need to be pennsylvania democrats. electors arent a stagnant person.

honestly sometimes i just get tired of the "trump will take power forever" stuff when people dont even seem to understand the checks and balances at play.

trump is going to convince the democratic party to faithlessly elect him and then presidential elections will just stop? idk wtf to do with these kind of things but laugh buddy.

edit: also i thought u were viv when i typed this and i thought it was a reply to me lol, so theres that

I'm saying if this many people come out to vote and it doesn't matter whatsoever it will probably be the last time people really bother considering how restrictive it is to vote in person now. If there are faithless electors anywhere doubly so. It will show that no matter how many people vote they will get more disease and poverty.

Reagan won reelection in the midst of crack, AIDS, and Reaganomics, Bush was reelected by the same team who elected Trump.

I'm with Bob when I say it isn't over. Capitalism produces a lot of anti-democratic shenanigins. I like your optimism though.

You can't really say Trump has a team. He hasn't had a stable team in four years and has just constantly fired people until he gets someone sycophantic enough to just be an emasculated warm body. Or if he completely doesn't give a f**** about what the secretary does he can just sell the seat like with DeVos.

Either way all the talented people have left already so who are you going to work with?

Better to start from scratch then to start with a collection of rotten apples.

Are they going to work with math denier Pompeo? Lol

it comes down to a simple truth, the system isnt broken and restrictive checks and balances that we've been bragging about to Europeans when they brag about electric car laws that passed overnight are built for times like this.

the rules say trump has to leave.

Theorically yes, I heard so much that American president had much less power in his country than our own in France

-------
French expert:

"The powers of the president, to read the Constitution, are incredibly modest. If you look at this brief US Constitution it only has one large article which is Article 1. Article 1 deals with Congress and gives an extremely specifies the competences of Congress: it has 17 powers, there is also a somewhat elastic clause which allows new powers to be built. If you compare this article 1 to article 2, which deals with the presidency, well this article is not at all to the advantage of the presidency. At the end of article 2, the president simply has an executive power. There is no definition, no content to this executive power. "

What is the President of the United States for?

"It must be seen that the constitution only describes a core of powers for the president, however specifies François Vergniolle de Chantal. Around this core, over the decades there has been a phenomenon of political accretion, it is that is to say, new powers aggregated. Presidents built their power primarily out of the silences of the Constitution. The modern presidency as we know it was born with Franklin Roosevelt. "
----------

So Trump is abusing of the extended powers slowly acquired by much more reasonable or at least; competents presidents... He's destroying the presidency itself.

These are 2 seperate conversations:

1. the increasing power of the executive office by way of expanding the purview of executive orders. Clinton did it, Bush did it, Obama did it, Trump does it. all bad, i dont like any of it.

2. Trump as a person's ability or lack thereof to retain office if the electoral college votes for Biden. executive orders have been expanded, but they cant be used to override the EC.
