Also another detail, apparently the DA's press conference today said that Brooks presented no more threat because the 3-shot taser had already been fired twice, and when Brooks shot it at the officers a half second before they returned fire, that ran it out of ammo and it would need to be reloaded to fire again (it could still be used as a melee stun gun, something the DA conspicuously left out). So apparently "he ran out of ammo half a second before we returned fire" is a reason to prosecute.
that entire shitshow of a press conference was just one quotable sound byte after another
"he was never informed he was under arrest" as he's on video interrupting the officer informing him he's under arrest by assaulting him
"he never displayed any aggressive behavior" and "never presented himself as a threat" as he physically attacked officers unprovoked and shot a weapon at them
"there was no {timely} medical attention applied to Mr. Brooks" because it took 132 whole seconds

Yes. I don't know what fantasy land you live in where Americans will over-zealously convict a cop but it's not happening. Until it actually HAPPENS, why would I worry?
It's really telling that you're worried about fair trials for alt-right people when people haven't gotten fair trials for CENTURIES. If you're poor, you're not getting a fair trial. You're going to get a shitty public defender and most likely plea out and serve time. You claim to be this guy who deeply cares about civil liberties but your post history appears to focus on an incredibly narrow subset of the population. Look, everyone deserves justice and a fair trial (including the alt-right, Nazis, etc.) but I'm not going to worry about six sigma events when there are other problems that are 2 inches from our face.
One look around the country and I'd say we're easily at that point and well beyond. The courts move slower than popular attitudes. If you don't think its possible, I'd say just sit back and watch
