I don't know what this has to do with the sentiments that someone hopes emergency services go denied for people in need.
Let me briefly clarify something that is irking me a bit. Cops. Not fire departments or medical personnel, etc.
I rescind and regret saying that people of CHAZ forfeit their rights to Seattle/Washingston State/US resources as a nature of declaring themselves autonomous. Most importantly because it was indeed callous of me to say, but also that I have re-thought that position. I don't really beleive that or really hope that in my core, I was posting in frustration to the growing movement of many of me and my wife's friends and colleagues calling to defund cops entirely because I truly believe we need them in some sort of capacity for society to function safely (even in CHAZ).
Pertinently, when it comes to preserving lives and the safety and wellbeing of human beings, it should be noted that it is (or at least was) extremely dangerous for police to enter CHAZ right now as an automonous zone that was largely found upon being without police, with some anti-police sentiments, with the presence of heavily armed guards on their region's borders. This danger to their lives must be considered, though I admit I was not referring to this in my OP.
So I do think cops have a duty to respond to things that are extremely dangerous and life-threatening, even if the citizens of the separate region don't want them (such as CHAZ). They must be cautious for their own safety when doing so. But main point of clarification, I feel like your misconstruing my callousness to a whole new level of badness by implying my sentiment (post 131 of this thread) included medics and firefighters and social workers, crisis teams, etc. I was specifically (albeitly callously) referring to police.
