Example of GOP authoritarianism. Doctors will go to jail if they don't do impossible procedures that the government believes in.

This is literally you mis-interpreting that article.

The article itself is a joke.

Sec. 2904.35. A physician who does all of the following is
not subject to criminal prosecution, damages in any civil
action, or professional disciplinary action, for a violation of
this chapter:

(A) Using reasonable medical judgment, believes it is
highly probable that the pregnant woman will die from a certain
fatal condition before her unborn child is viable;
(B) Performs a surgery, before the unborn child is viable,
for the sole purpose of treating the pregnant woman's fatal
condition;
(C) Takes all possible steps to preserve the life of the
unborn child, while preserving the life of the woman. Such steps
include, if applicable, attempting to reimplant an ectopic
pregnancy into the woman's uterus.

Applicability is left up to the courts to decide, when the provision should have never been put into the bill in the first place. Leaving it up to interpretation as to whether a doctor can be charged with murder for not performing a medically impossible procedure is a really fucking bad way to legislate.

Still doesn't answer the first question, responses by saying someone else is deflecting. A++

I didn’t make any claim about the bill being authoritarian, simply that a laughably non realistic notion is being presented. Therefore what am I specifically deflecting from? If you want to answer my questions that would be nice but I don’t expect you to

Ill talk to a real doctor before I believe it.

Talk to a real doctor before you believe what?

Just like it is hard to get on board with some more left notions such as free college for everyone, the right goes full moron themselves by even bringing these types of conversations to the table taking away their credibility

I think it's more just to plug a possible future loophole, in the intended no abortion anymore bill.

Think about it. What if a similar bill happened back in the 1700's about heart transplants. There would possibly be an "if applicable" clause in there too. NOW, not doing a necessary heart transplant would be... criminal. Then...as it was still undoable...the clause would've had to be there.

I just think the bill is the politicians plugging any loopholes, and the article is just to rile people up.

You also thought the procedure was possible a page or two ago.

My humble opinion:

Republicans are wrong on "religious cultural issues" like abortion and gay marriage, but they are totally right on "post-religious cultural issues" like immigration, political correctness and transgenderism.

If the procedure is currently impossible doctors won't have to do it even if the bill passes.

While its stupid to put in a bill future research may make it a viable option.

Pretty much sounds like abortion virtue signalling and should be removed from the bill.

I'm still not sure it's NOT possible, IF caught early enough....say, only 4 cells, or maybe 8 cells.

Our medical abilities have come so far so fast, none of us can say what we'll be able to do in 15-20 years.

The alternative is creating a loophole where every woman can just find some jackhole doctor to cry wolf and pretend its an ectopic pregnancy for cases where it isnt true.

What if an ectopic pregnancy transplant is not only possible but in the same realm of safety as an abortion?
