His fake populism in the rust belt in my opinion is the biggest factor that got him elected and Hilliary's campaign did not put enough focus into. They harped on the unfit to run angle but the reality at that point was the middle aged rust belt vote was gonna vote for whoever seemed to realize their struggles even to the point of getting duped by Trump.

The hardest pill to swallow in my eyes is that most people don't have a real understanding of candidates or the 2 opposing parties politics and differences. The amount of people who would have voted for Bernie if nominated but voted for Trump is higher than most people want to think.

It is funny though when trump cultists don't realize just how narrow Trump's win was when you look at the districts that he barely won in any state that isn't a hard red state. Maybe this gives some hope reelection in 2020 will be against him but the political game is too confusing now. Some of the people I know who voted for Trump are just doubling down on everything that's happened to this point.

Comey definitely screwed her, but I think it was 49 mil votes she had or some odd number like that. Considering the last 2 previous democratic president had 55, 56 million votes. You do have to ask yourself where did that 6 million votes go. They definitely didn't go to Trump as he had 46 or 47 mil I believe. I'd be hard pressed to believe that was all comeys fault. I personally look at a high percentage of those voters being Bernie supporters or just flat out people disgusted with the party to manufacture there own candidate..

George bush senior wife said and don't quote me word for word. But she said something like this when interviewed shortly before she passed. "Isn't there anyone else can do it. I'm tired of a bush or Clinton running the country. Let someone else do it" in a nutshell. And I would look to alot of those voters not voting for that reason as well. It was lethal cocktail of fudgery shelled out by DNC and Hillary inability to let go. in her mind she just had to be the president. They just couldn't let nature take it's course. And you know what they say about mother nature.. she is a B! She always comes back with a vengeance!

Trump speaks before he thinks, and he is clearly uneducated in matters of law. However, the job of the presidency is much more extensive than the head of the justice department.

Certainly, a lawyer is no more qualified to be commander-in-chief than a general is to be chief law enforcement officer. Neither perhaps are best suited to run the world's largest economy.

If anything, the focus on each of Trump's failings are more an indictment of the presidency itself, and the inability of any one man to fill a thousand shoes.

That's why they have a cabinet, which is something Trump has either failed to fill or filled with cronies. The only ones who were worth anything you could count on one hand and they're gone now. You can see it as an indictment of the presidency, but it's funny how no other president has been an "indictment of the presidency", only when conservatives need to make excuses for their own.

Also, the president doesn't "run the economy". That's just silly.

Every recent president has been an indictment of the presidency. The executive branch has grown without bound. The president's powers have expanded much beyond what was already the most powerful position in government, including the ability to issue executive orders that seem to transcend checks and balances, declare war without congressional approval by use of 'conflicts', and both elect and depose leaders in governments across the world through our intelligence agencies.

While the economy is clearly market run, the executive branch is both the largest employer and consumer in the country. Congress establishes the set of laws, but the president's executive branch often discriminately applies them in a way that changes with each new administration, often for those who are in power and against those who were last in power.

Trump most likely won’t be campaigning in late November in deep red states like how Hillary was fundraising in California in 2016. he may be brash but he isn’t the world’s smartest dumb person

Real question now is. How will the Republicans change the laws to protect Trump after his presidency is over..

I do respect Hurd. He seemed like the only republican to take these hearings seriously today. I would of rather heard the rest of them ask serious questions and try to get some real clarity. Instead of just blurting broad aggressive statements at Mueller and try to discredit his integrity! This defend Donald Trump at all cost so we keep our voters is going to bite them hard in 2022. I keep having to remind people. No one is the president forever.
