tobacco does filter the smoke to some extent, and he's right about sidestream smoke being much worse than first-hand and second-hand smoke

But the smoke gets spread around in the air so it's not like it's concentrated when you breath it in. I can't believe so many people are anti-smoking. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean you have the right to make it illegal. There was a time in this country, not too long ago, where you could smoke just about anywhere and everywhere.

sure, it's typically not concentrated, but you're still subjecting people to inhaling a harmful substance against their will

It's not against their will. They made the choice to enter a building that allows smoking. It's pretty fucking dumb to go somewhere that you know allows smoking and then complain about the people smoking. That's like going to a gay strip club and complaining about seeing a few dicks.

i was responding to, "There was a time in this country, not too long ago, where you could smoke just about anywhere and everywhere."

anyway, not liking something and being directly harmed by something are two very different things, it's pretty obvious why people are anti-smoking when they can't go in public without the risk of inhaling second-hand/sidestream smoke

IMO smoking should be prohibited in all public places, both open and enclosed, except for 21+ buildings (bars, strip clubs, etc)

Why is smoking in public dangerous to others around you ?

second hand smoking increases the risk of cardiovascular disease. Can also cause an asthma attack in some people.
Personally I don't give a shit if I receive infrequent second hand smoke or not.

yep, but stubborn people on this thread think that its okay to smoke in public, and harm the innocent civilians around them.
