black bears will eventually vanish, man will too. Time is a concept for us, its hardly a concept for our planet. Look I am not saying pollute and shoot, cause it doesnt matter. It DOES matter, but it matter FOR US.
So saying the worst that ever happened to nature is humanity is a bit of a silly statement, cause whatever we do to this planet is eventually something we do to ourselves. Its not save the planet, its save ourselves. The planet recovered from catastrophic events millions of years before the first human ancestors ever came into existence. We and the time we lived on this planet so far is extremely insignificant and what wr did to this planet is also extremely insignificant in the bigger picture.
People should realize that "saving the planet" is a false statement. It is "Saving our goddamn skin!"
https://michaellaitman.medium.com/nature-vs-human-nature-f2aa9981e81eagain, you're almost describing human nature perfectly...

Man, on the other hand, takes the laws of nature he discovers and seeks to use them against others. Man’s goal is not to sustain himself, but to dominate others, and for as long as possible. There is neither balance in man’s mind, nor dynamism. There is permanent self-absorption.
i dont fully agree with the quote above. in my opinion, its not that man is necessarily wanting to dominate others, but rather that its willing and capable of preserving itself at the expense of others. and this is how we differ from other animals.
this is also from a large scale perspective. im not talking about a lion taking down a single gazel because she's hungry. that is what was intended by nature. i mean things like large scale deforestation and such because we need to farm palm oil for nutella.
