I was curious so i looked up the source/methodology.
That study + graph are representing a handful of people's answers to a whopping 4 particular questions on each.
(Most of the ~1000 people surveyed watched multiple news sources. this isnt a 'polls are only asking a small percentage of the population' comment. its a fraction of the sample size)
Those questions don't necessarily fairly represent all news knowledge.
Nor are people who claim they ONLY watch fox news(a certain type of person) representative of the information someone who might watch fox + something else might get from the station.
Groups across the board answered fewer than 2 of 4 correct. yikes.
The study notes that moderates and liberals who claim to watch only fox news are driving the statistic and that conservatives who watch only fox do no worse than 'no news'
which by itself throws the whole thing into question even without the numerous other points.
Yea, such a study will be clearly biased but imo he has a point just bringing in that perspective to the argument. A lot of people who don't watch the news, but care at all enough to be able to answer those sort of questions, talk with people irl about events or search news trends online and follow them that way.
I personally watch almost zero news. Sometimes I come here when I'm bored, read on what you guys have posted and maybe read an article or two regarding it if I decide to partake in the discussion if I'm not aiming to troll. I have no doubt that a large portion of people who watch Fox news are people who would fit the category of 'white trash', as being a liberal is mainly the influence of an entitled mindset that puts emotions before living easily, which is almost always only thoguht of those who are in need(mainly becuase those giving liberal rich people always promise them money) or those who have too much money or time on their hands.
