its funny he spends more time on the trump reddit than everyone here combined, fishing for content he doesnt like, then tells everyone else to go back to the “trump reddit safe space” after stamping his little feet calling anyone he disagrees with a cultist

its to be expected self-described snarky liberal who gleefully voted for the pro-abortion, normal middle class american-loathing candidate that benefited most from a rigged primary process.

Its weird too because me and icemage agree like 90% of the time for policy

I actually think Trump has a very valid point there.

depends on the definition of 'important', if news is important for keeping people informed he's objectively wrong by any measure

Yeah, CNN spreads its narrative to other countries and paints a bad pic of USA tbh

they both have a point.

the president does indeed represent the country abroad. but he's also responsible for domestic policy, which tbh is the more important task.

Yeah, talking about a statistical standpoint with no sort of emotional nuance brought into the equation, sure.

But, if you want to talk about nuance and perspective about the people and known issues of the U.S, Trump is absolutely correct.

I know that news stations are now franchises, which manipulate people in order to get more views in order to pad their pockets. It'll never change, at least not in a free market. Humans are emotional creatures.

Sure, shows that take highlights of important news facts and summarize them, then make their appeal on other, minor nuances may attract a bigger audience as it fits the live quick and easy life style we Americans have, but it forgoes the actual perspective that the outside world may have on us.

I was curious so i looked up the source/methodology.

That study + graph are representing a handful of people's answers to a whopping 4-5 particular questions on each.
(Most of the ~1000 people surveyed watched multiple news sources. this isnt a 'polls are only asking a small percentage of the population' comment. its a fraction of the sample size)

Those questions don't necessarily fairly represent all news knowledge.
Nor are people who claim they ONLY watch fox news(a certain type of person) representative of the information someone who might watch fox + something else might get from the station.

Groups across the board answered fewer than 2 of 4 correct. yikes.

The study notes that moderates and liberals who claim to watch only fox news are driving the statistic and that conservatives who watch only fox do no worse than 'no news'
which by itself throws the whole thing into question even without the numerous other points.
