250 miles above the earth we encounter no gravity - but they are calling it "micro gravity" now - ok that's only 1/100 th of the distance of the circumference of the earth. Omg is just discovered this claim they are using this force - omfg the circle jerk is complete - Gravity-gradient effects, also known as tidal effects. Items at different locations within the ISS would, if not attached to the station, follow slightly different orbits. Being mechanically interconnected these items experience small forces that keep the station moving as a rigid body.
