...no you should not . You have zero knowledge of why either of those books were written and to whom they were targeted and why .
It is incorrect to say I have zero knowledge. I don't know as much as you or IceMage, but I still know some things about the Bible and the religion of Christianity.
My parents raised me in a Christian household. I was confirmed at my church, baptized, and etc.
But all that doesn't mean much. Most importantly, I used to be a part of a weekly Bible study for two years. That's when I learned the most about the Bible.
So I'm not a Biblical expert by any means, don't know nearly ad much as you or Ice, but I still know some stuff about it, and it would be incorrect to say I have zero knowledge.
Lastly (and this is where you'd probably disagree with me), I posses the ability to critically analzye text, google things, and learn new things.
I know a decent amount about Christianity, both from my own interest and searching, and from being around family, going to many different churches, watching documentaries, being a history buff.
So I realize when I post standalone Bible verses, they are out of proper context, but that doesn't mean you can't take anything from them.
If you couldn't take a general message from something without it being in the perfect context, it would be hard to learn much of anything.
So yeah, Deu 22:21 is taken out of context when I post it alone, but it's still talking about stoning an alduterous woman to death no matter what context it is in and whether that was acceptable thing at the time in their society.
