I don't see why plastering the Hollywood access tape everywhere should be a bad thing. It's not fucking 'identity politics', it's exposing Trump as a sexual predator. Yet people still voted for him over Hillary because they'd rather have a rapist in the White House than a brown guy living next door. Pretty pathetic state of affairs.
Chart is misleading though when all your 'policies' are about identity politics. Build a wall, deport illegals, Muslim ban and so on... Kill terrorist's families! I mean fucking hell dude.
Calling Trump a sexist is not a policy. Calling Trump a racist is not a policy. Calling Trump islamophobic is not a policy. It was just a calculated effort to try to win by a purely negative campaign that exploited identity politics.
Anyone can rattle off the policies Trump campaigned on- end TPP, end NAFTA, bring jobs back from overseas, repeal and replace Obamacare, build a wall, deport illegals, deregulate, lower taxes, bomb the shit out of ISIS
And you can go and accuse these policies of being tinged by identity politics, but they are actual policy positions with good reasoning behind them. Hillary's campaign instead resorted to empty name-calling and stirring up racial, religious and sexist animus based on identity labels. Her goal was to get people angry and point fingers at Trump. And heavens did she rile people up. Here you and skinned are, regurgitating it a year later. He's so far gone he thinks I was a pro-Bush republican now.
Its so easy for people to fall into the trap of moral self righteousness and weaponized identity without realizing it. I saw the republican party once get taken over by the religious right crazies who sincerely believed in their moralizing and used it as justification for hatred and bigotry, and I was disgusted by it then. And now I've seen the democrats get taken over by their radical crazies who sincerely believe in their moralizing and use it as justification for hatred and bigotry, and I'm disgusted by it now. When I watch Hillary Clinton push black lives matter and denounce 'white supremacists' and call Trump a racist/sexist and use krazy khan as a campaign prop to condemn Trump, and when I watch Donald Trump cynically pander to
his base by talking about mexican rapists, a muslim ban, etc- its just two sides of the same coin. And rather than be selectively offended, I tally the pennies and weigh one stack against the other
And this past year has proven to me a hundred times over just how damaging the left-wing radicalization has been compared to the right.
