Not to mention that the vast majority of Trump's "free press" that he exploited was done by making outrageous identity politics comments to keep himself in the media.

so its trumps fault that the liberal media developed an obsession with him?

exactly: they still voted for trump, despite all the clinton attacks on him as a person. trying to make this election a referendum on donald trump's personality was one of the biggest, if not the single most severe mistake of the clinton campaign. she didnt give swing voters any reason to vote for her except for "the other guy is even worse than me".

trump talking about stuff like the downsides of rampant free trade and immigration resonated with voters. clinton talking about trump didnt.

Yea. Sucks for Hillary that she didn't realise just how big the basket of deplorables really is.
Normally I'm against ad hominem. I mean I don't give a fuck if Ed Milliband has trouble eating a bacon sandwich or if Trump looks like a fucking orang-utan. It wouldn't change my mind on how to vote. But sometimes personal attacks are warranted and in this case, if America was a majority moral society, they would not have voted him in.
Simple fact is - there's just a much greater pool of amoral dickheads that are eager to vote in a sexual predator if they'll get rid of some brown people than we thought.
You call it a mistake. I call it Hillary having faith in Americans to not be cunts. She misjudged you guys.

I don't see why plastering the Hollywood access tape everywhere should be a bad thing. It's not fucking 'identity politics', it's exposing Trump as a sexual predator. Yet people still voted for him over Hillary because they'd rather have a rapist in the White House than a brown guy living next door. Pretty pathetic state of affairs.

Chart is misleading though when all your 'policies' are about identity politics. Build a wall, deport illegals, Muslim ban and so on... Kill terrorist's families! I mean fucking hell dude.

Calling Trump a sexist is not a policy. Calling Trump a racist is not a policy. Calling Trump islamophobic is not a policy. It was just a calculated effort to try to win by a purely negative campaign that exploited identity politics.
Anyone can rattle off the policies Trump campaigned on- end TPP, end NAFTA, bring jobs back from overseas, repeal and replace Obamacare, build a wall, deport illegals, deregulate, lower taxes, bomb the shit out of ISIS
And you can go and accuse these policies of being tinged by identity politics, but they are actual policy positions with good reasoning behind them. Hillary's campaign instead resorted to empty name-calling and stirring up racial, religious and sexist animus based on identity labels. Her goal was to get people angry and point fingers at Trump. And heavens did she rile people up. Here you and skinned are, regurgitating it a year later. He's so far gone he thinks I was a pro-Bush republican now.

Its so easy for people to fall into the trap of moral self righteousness and weaponized identity without realizing it. I saw the republican party once get taken over by the religious right crazies who sincerely believed in their moralizing and used it as justification for hatred and bigotry, and I was disgusted by it then. And now I've seen the democrats get taken over by their radical crazies who sincerely believe in their moralizing and use it as justification for hatred and bigotry, and I'm disgusted by it now. When I watch Hillary Clinton push black lives matter and denounce 'white supremacists' and call Trump a racist/sexist and use krazy khan as a campaign prop to condemn Trump, and when I watch Donald Trump cynically pander to his base by talking about mexican rapists, a muslim ban, etc- its just two sides of the same coin. And rather than be selectively offended, I tally the pennies and weigh one stack against the other

And this past year has proven to me a hundred times over just how damaging the left-wing radicalization has been compared to the right.

Hillary attacked the weakness instead of the strength, and in doing so reinforced Trump's persona he had already crafted. She was just as dirty as Karl Rove but none of the cunning
When some worker who goes home and has a beer and turns on the tube and watches Trump shave vince mcmahon's head on national TV then hears Hillary shrilly denouncing him for saying the same kind of crude-but-honest remarks that he could see himself making, that helps Trump more than it hurts him. The guy has been selling himself as a braggadocio playboy billionaire carnival barker since the 80's and goes around trying to make himself as relatable as possible as what americans imagine they would be if they had his money, eating mcdonalds on a private jet while speaking with no script or filter- and instead of Hillary attacking his strength and try to make him unrelatable or elitist, she went with attacking the low hanging fruit and trying to smear him based off his transgressions against identity politics in his unfiltered speech. The average joe didn't care. Anyone who was going to clutch pearls because Trump identified that gold digging bimbos exist in real life, was already going to vote democrat anyway.

Her hubris and incompetence got in the way of her cynicism and immorality. She pulled out all the stops to run a dirty campaign, but did it wrong, and was hoisted by numerous petards of her own between the failed identity politics, russia, rigging the primary, deplorables, her flip flopping, myriad scandals, etc etc. Karl Rove made George W. Bush the president because he was satan, Hillary was just faust.

Mate. Come on now. I'm not calling Trump sexist - though he clearly is - I'm calling him a fucking rapist. The Hollywood tape proved he is a sexual predator. That alone should preclude him from taking office and makes anyone who voted for him either a gullible idiot who believes all that 'locker room banter' bullshit or a deplorable arsehole who thinks it's better, as I said before, to have a rapist in the white house than a muslim living next door.

"liberal media"

more like capitalist media that love controversy to drum up ratings.
