first of all, the US accounts for 25% of the worldwide CO2 emissions.
second, the entire paris climate agreement is a joke because huge countries like china and india, which account for another 25% of worldwide emissions, are treated like developing countries in the treaty. this means that they dont have to pay more for CO2 reductions and climate protection, they are paid by the industrial countries. same goes for most of africa, SE asia and parts of latin america. therefore, the fact that those countries signed the paris agreement is neither surprising nor is it an actual sign of those countries committing their resources to climate protection.

the paris climate agreement is a modern form of a sale of indulgences. the rich countries pay the poor countries to relieve their guilty conscience. it is far from being the most effective way of organizing the global community in its fight against global warming, and it is actually harmful because it masks the small commitment of most countries to climate protection.
