Ow, yes this specifically is work culture related, deviating from what I'm used to, reducing a freedom for some, yet not related towards actual state regulation on free speech. (As a fun fact: we do have severe penalties for humiliating the king, yet this law is outdated and not practiced anymore.) The question is what triggered the urge to fire her, and not come with a practical solution? If the state was involved this would actually be interesting on the subject of freedom of expression. But were not gonna get that information, so discussing it would be digging into conspiracy theories. I can understand a person's urge to use a picture that has gone viral as a profile pic. Especially in these times. Imo she didn't deserve it, based on my own culture where employees are more protected.
Due to that difference, firing her actually made the news here (just a small article).
