At this point it honestly looks more and more like they just allowed the initial hostage taking to happen to provide justification for this.

Palestinians can surrender and lay down their arms.

People are typically fighting for a reason?
No one has more reason to fight than the palestinians after 77 years siege. 100's of thousands murdered. Millions displaced. Lay down their weapons for what? For israel to take over and run an apartheid state?
Should Ukraine just lay down their arms as well?

Its anti sematic to say jews may have let jews get killed. what about if a jew says it, then does it cancel out? what a pathetic attempt to avoid talking about the standdown. your leader let your people die and all you have is identity politics to counter it, sad. havent come up against any real resistance since the "war" started, hamas has only ever been interested in harming civilians.

PC issues at the moment, so i'll just do a quick update -

The UK:

George Galloway and his wife were detained for four hours for questioning by the English police under the UK's terror legislation (politically motivated harassment against his stance on Gaza), this follows on from 900+ arrests at a Pro Palestinian Rally in the UK and from 60+ arrests throughout the month against supporters of what the UK government calls a Terror Group. These included such scary figures as vicars and priests, war veterans and descendants of Holocaust survivors.

Qatar:

On September 9, Israel carried out a missile strike in Doha, targeting Hamas negotiators who were in Qatar at the request of the United States, which had installed Qatar as a key third-party mediator in the ongoing talks. Qatar had already played an instrumental role in securing the release of earlier groups of Israeli hostages and was central to new discussions that Washington was pushing forward. The strike killed several people, including at least one Qatari security officer, and provoked immediate condemnation. Qatar denounced it as a violation of its sovereignty and as a direct attempt to sabotage its role as mediator. Given the size and strategic importance of the U.S. military presence in Qatar, it is not credible that the U.S. was unaware of the strike; many critics argue that the U.S. must have been involved in its planning or at least had foreknowledge.

Critics also suggested that Netanyahu, facing immense political pressure at home, may have acted to prevent the successful release of hostages through Qatari mediation, fearing it would constrain his military and political options. Netanyahu had long accused Qatar of supporting Hamas, at one point threatening further attacks and proposing legislation to label it a “state sponsor of terrorism.” Following severe diplomatic backlash and direct U.S. pressure, Netanyahu was forced to soften his stance. On September 29, in a three-way call with Donald Trump and Qatar’s prime minister, he expressed regret, acknowledged the breach of sovereignty, and pledged not to repeat such an attack. Key members of his coalition criticized the apology, branding Netanyahu weak and claiming that backing down damaged Israel’s deterrence and credibility.

The Flotilla:

The Global Sumud Flotilla, over 50 vessels from multiple countries, including the UK and Italy, sailed toward Gaza carrying humanitarian aid. Drone attacks near Greece forced Spanish and Italian naval support, while Turkey rescued activists from a vessel taking on water. No country has seriously investigated who is behind these terror attacks but all fingers point to Israel. By September 30, Italy withdrew its escort at 150 nautical miles from Gaza amid Israeli threats, but the Spanish are going the distance.

"The Eternal Peace Plan"

A bigger kid (Israel) is bullying a smaller boy (Palestine) in the yard. Other kids (the rest of the world) feel sorry but do nothing. The bully’s older brother (USA) tells him (Israel) to take the smaller boy (Palestine) somewhere private to continue the bullying forever. Both brothers then tell the little boy to just accept it.

as much as i condemn the attack in Qatar, and fully accept the idea Net and Yahoo did it to take pressure off of himself and continue the war, i have to say i cry ZERO tears for Qatar themselves.

Gaza is Israeli territory. i wish it wasnt, but it is. and its ruled by a terrorist organization. and Qatar knowingly houses and protects those terrorists. if they really were interested in getting hostages released, and ending the war, they'd just round up the Hamas leaders, put guns to their heads, and say order the release or you all will get handed over to Israel. but of course they wont, because they like every other muslim country work with israel, but are sympathetic to the palestinian cause and always will be. they're two faced fence sitters who want favors to negotiate things they could just force easily.

Qatar has long used its support for the Palestinians, including Hamas, as a tool to pressure Israel and keep it under constant security strain. At the same time, Qatar’s leadership knows that Israel’s power far exceeds theirs, and in the Middle East where fear is a major currency, they now seem more open to striking a deal

Well then put Obama in Jail for asking Qatar to house Hamas Negotiators in Qatar. The US asked Qatar to be a mediator. They mediate. They helped free alot of the hostages already and now all of a sudden they are a state sponsor of terror because they have Hamas negotiators in Qatar - which the US asked them to do. i mean come on.

Your response is a bit extreme. One could point to numerous Israeli actions and say Hello Pot, Meet Kettle. i.e. dont throw stones in glass houses.

Did you see one of the conditions US put for peace was the Israel also releases 250 prionsers for life and 1700 gazans incl women and children held without trial or anything?

Here's what Israels own "humanitarian center" in aug 2024 said about where these women and children are being held.
