well, the increasing number of officially confirmed cases clearly suggests the US ramped up testing. apparently there is a severe shortage of reliable tests in virtually every state, but yeah, technically there ARE tests.
and to be fair, even though many nations seem to have severely underestimated the threat (at least partly by valuing the economy over human life), and south korea deserves all the praise they get for handling this issue, we should not forget that they did have a certain infrastructural advantage and preparedness when it comes to virus testing, due to their previous experience with MERS, and generally outstanding healthcare system.

S Korea did react well. But keep in mind, we're talking a country the size of Indiana with a population of 51 million.

The US has 7x the population, and 97 times the land area.

the US also had weeks of warning, a whole ocean between them and china, a lower population density and median age... those are all factors that FAVOUR them.

Nope. People don't even remember that Trump was impeached. No one knows who Adam Schiff is, no one remembers that Kamala Harris ran for president, and no one will remember Richard Burr. I'm amazed that you think this when the evidence is pretty clear that most Americans are more ignorant than Ghot.

Do you think coronavirus will be a campaign issue? because if it is, we'll be bombarded with messaging reminding us what was said in the initial days/weeks/months.
Even if everyone would have forgotten otherwise, those tweets will get dredged up

I honestly think this is going to happen too. I think we'll have 4 more years of Trump come November.

Trump had the advantage of a gigantic economic boom and a string of improbable successes to make his reelection seem inevitable, now he's lost his economy and the jury is still out on how his coronavirus response will be viewed
Even if his coronavirus response is adequate, if the economy doesn't rev up again before the election he's going to lose

It seems to me as though Trump isn't being criticized by those on the right for his response to covid-19. If Conservative Reddit and The_Donald are anything to go by, it seems they feel Trump is doing a fine job and that issues related to covid-19 are about how China responded, the ineptitude of the CDC, and people over-reacting to "the flu".

Biden will experience the same thing that Hillary did in that Biden has virtually no appeal to young voters (which, don't really turnout to begin with), and campaigning on "At least I'm not Trump" is a horrible way to try and unify behind a "Blue No Matter Who" mantra.

It's not a matter of health system but a matter of intelligence bro.
While South Korea tracked down all potential infected people when the first cases showed up, remember that people such as Thor, who will maybe be a doctor in future, were queuing at the electronic store like just 3 days ago.

South Korea should not be taken as an example, they had a very precise source in vaste numbers (this cult church) so they we are able to trace 99% of the whole thing even with thousand(s) cases.
In the same way: Amount of cases doesn't means much: follow the dead amount per million and associated chart to know which countries are getting hit first. Free world countries only.

And it's even possible that at some point some "free world" countries start to hide their deadz too (ie: "he died of pneumonia")
