So as hard as this is to believe - "Iran" has "decided" at the last minute to withdraw a resolution prohibiting attacks on nuclear facilities that it put forward for a vote before an annual gathering of the U.N. nuclear watchdog’s member nations.

Basically the US has said "we can bomb your nuclear sites and there is nothing you can do about it". The narrative in the media is PEAK NEXT LEVEL. imagine for a moment, telling another country its OK if you bomb our nuclear sites.

Well, lets see where this goes...

does this mean that Russia can now bomb US nuclear sites?

Both of them look like they spend their nights fighting batman

I think it’s nice if the Dutch are getting accused of liking jews too much tho, that hasn’t historically been a problem for them.

Obviously. Whether Russia bombs US nuclear sites or potato fields in Iowa, the result is the same. In the case of an attack on America, the UN is totally powerless. Thinking that Russia would take UN resolutions into consideration while planning an attack against America is almost unbelievably dumb.

TLDR: the UN has been reduced to nothing, because superpowers will do w/e they want, or can get away it.

Reduced? It’s been nothing. America is the only force keeping the world in check, it’s been this way for 80 years already.

Starmer set to announce UK recognition of Palestinian state on Sunday - will be interesting to see the wording he uses.

"Right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must."

The Security Council members have a veto because they are the power brokers that be. The mass of nations without power are explicitly excluded from the conversation. It's an archaic system only because power changes over time, and neither France nor the UK are the powers they were imagined to be following the 2nd World War.
