um there is no surge.. they have been seeing about =/- 100 cases a day for about 7-9 days.
There serious % is one of the lowest. they are one of the poorest countries with large population. They are controlling it better than the US.
i'm not going back through jsp tabs. please explain in your short term grasp why they are so successful if not due to testing.

S. Korea ran two tests on every man, woman, and child due to the disparity in results. you were only negative if you passed both tests. they found the majority of the carriers were asymptomatic young adults that they quarantined for 2 weeks or until symptom resolution

we don't even have enough tests to give everyone one let alone perform up to evidence based metrics

From January 31st when Trump banned travel from China, to March 11th when Trump banned travel from the EU, Joe Biden was consistently attacking Trump and opposing the bans, even vowing that he'd "lift the ban" if elected. In a series of speeches and tweets, Biden labeled it xenophobia, racism, inhumane, fear-based, hysteria, fear-mongering and a stain on our nation. Now Joe Biden has flip flopped and said that Trump didn't do enough to stem the outbreak, that he wasn't proactive early enough. Biden can't hide behind an excuse that he was saying Trump was too late at the time- he was calling travel bans fear-mongering and racist and hysterical, not too-little-too-late. Now Biden is setting up his own Coronavirus response streams to oppose Trump's announcements and contradict him every time he holds an official briefing, doing his own little dress-up game to pretend he's president already.

With 99% of the media oxygen devoted to Coronavirus, about 95% of the national political attention is eyes on Trump, but Joe Biden screwed the pooch here. That's going to get remembered when we return to a normal election year.

well, the increasing number of officially confirmed cases clearly suggests the US ramped up testing. apparently there is a severe shortage of reliable tests in virtually every state, but yeah, technically there ARE tests.
and to be fair, even though many nations seem to have severely underestimated the threat (at least partly by valuing the economy over human life), and south korea deserves all the praise they get for handling this issue, we should not forget that they did have a certain infrastructural advantage and preparedness when it comes to virus testing, due to their previous experience with MERS, and generally outstanding healthcare system.
