yeah, I agree. without latino immigration, today's democratic party would be in shambles. or, rather: they would be a very different party that stands for very different, more conservative policies. the GOP probably wouldnt be as extreme either, and the polarization between the two parties would be less pronounced.

highly misleading since no one would guess from this map alone that 2008 was a blue landslide victory. ;)


and thats one of reasons for the electoral college (which has many flaws ofc), no matter how butthurt people are about trumps victory

I'm seriously so sick of hearing about Trump already; he's a fringe candidate who stands no chance at getting the nomination. He's this year's Ron Paul (gets tons of attention on the internet but loses by a landslide).

exactly. without the electoral college, there would be no united states of america. the smaller states would never have joined without a political system that protects them from getting dominated by the more populous states.

Populous states should, by definition, have more voting power of course because they have more people. The electoral college merely shifts it from tyranny of the majority to tyranny of the minority, which is obviously worse.
