If you had asked me this then this is my answer: I look at what life is like BEFORE I gave my life to Jesus and what life is like AFTER I gave my life to Jesus. When I was living life before Jesus then the world betrayed me for what I desired most. I was driven to the point of suicide. Life wasn't that bright for me at all.

Yet now that I've given my life to Jesus and have a new outlook, life is much better than what it was. So when you tell me that I can go back to what it was like before I gave my life to Jesus, that is not something that I look forward to.

I am NOT GOING BACK to what life was like before I came to know Jesus. Doing that would bring back the concept of suicide. Jesus saved me from that life and I owe it all to Him.

So far we have an alcoholic, a former methead and now you what I imagine a depressed weak suicidal man. Then they attended a 12 step program and "find" jesus.
Well I sense a pattern here. It's like religion awaits for desperate people to intice its victims. That or it gets them when they are young and impressionable. Very few people who have a perfectly healthy, happy life and are intelligent end up finding "jesus" it's almost always some sick and desperate soul.

You said you not going back to the life before jesus.... Can I ask you a question?

Could it be possible that you have a weak will to live and are easily succumbed to everyday stress? Then could you just as easily replaced this focus/purpose onto something else like yourself or other higher cause. For example could you not just started working out and bettering yourself or maybe dedicated your life on some charity or starting a family or helping rescue animals or w/e. You just happened to turn to the first thing that came along. In truth you just shifted focus and decided to stop being suicidal by your own volition and the power of your own mind. You are giving credit to some devine magic force outside of yourself when infact it's you who is doing the changing.

Before I came to Jesus I did focus/purpose into myself. I was dead set on what my investment was. I was indeed working out and bettering myself. My favourite charity was CPK001. I had such high hopes...but then the world betrayed me. Suddenly what I had invested in turned out to be trash because of what the world did. It is the moment that defines my life. One single solitary moment and everything I had built came crashing down. Nobody in the entire world cared but everyone saw how my personality did a sudden change for the worse. Yes, I was that angry. There was nothing that anyone could do for me, not that they tried.

Why do you make an assumption that I simply shifted focus and decided to stop being suicidal by my own volition? I'm certain that you were not there to witness everything that went down. Isn't your entire argument based on sight and not faith?

you do understand nothing you have said here is a challenge to the truth of christianity. all your doing is trying to sow seeds of doubt but none of its any kind of real argument. its the kind of thing disingenuous people do.

World betrayed you? You sound like npc with main character syndrome. Someone lied or cheated on you? Well tough shit welcome to the real world. You probably grew up too naive thinking everything is rainbows and unicorns.

I thought maybe you tried to sacrifice your life to save a child or not being captured by isis terrorists. No surprises here weak, mentally unstable people are easily lured by religion.
