That explains what happened during the Gilded Age. So we stopped being a Democracy when big business found out they could just buy votes and politicians to subsidize their costs and privatize the profits? I say no we were not, because women weren't even allowed to vote at that point.

Nah, being against state involvement in marriage is libertarian, marriage itself is a sacred institution involving religious traditions.
Anything outside of that is just Disney fantasy pretend, marriage isn't about love as much as it is about procreation.
I don't know how you can believe in an imaginary invincible tyrant who loves you and cares about your sex life, but you don't believe in a state we can point at and experience that has actually made life better for hundreds of millions of our neighbors. No wonder libertarians make up <1% of the electorate.

Lol. Except for the economics part.....from what I see Libertarians aren't that strong in economics, more like a Dunning-Kruger effect.
