Average price of an ounce in Oregon is $211, and that's for a much higher quality than an ounce from say 15 years ago. Yet 15 years ago, getting an ounce of decent quality from "a dealer" would easily run $300-$400.
It's been a huge source of revenue for the state, without any actual price fixing or gauging. The state simply charges 17%, with localities allowed to place an additional 3%. Which is funny, one of the only remaining states that does not have a sales tax, is now racking up $100 million annually from a sales tax on pot. Good times.
yup 300$ was about what i'd pay for an ounce black market hydroponic grown in madison when i smoked heavily.
that 100m$ figure is indeed hilarious

if you think anything but local property taxes funds local schools, you are sorely mistaken
taxes go to things you already know of. and it's not local by-in-large
idgaf local or big city, as long as its schools and not bombs.

This. Polls seriously undercount Trump supporters likely for a variety of reasons, including Trump supporters being less likely to engage with the media/pollsters, but also because many intentionally lie to the polls to mess with them.
It's been interesting to check out the r/Conservative in which people post that either they themselves or someone they know lied to a pollster to fuck with them by saying "Biden" during this election. In a way, I can't fault them and think it's kind of funny.
i do the same thing with gay men, "why yes i am interested". 3 hours later as i leave their bedroom i say, "ha, got em".
