How does it affect the 50% of fat people with big bones or the other 50% of people with "glandular" disorders?

every big boned person ever

people with medical conditions that contribute to weight gain have also managed to lose weight (PCOS) being a good example so we know the people who use the same medical conditions as an excuse for gaining 300 pounds are full of shit

what's the difference? if science tells us how the human body functions and part of that includes changes to weight that correspond to what we eat then how does this not apply to all human bodies?

what do you believe would happen to every human if we stuck them into a concentration camp and limited their food supply? you don't have to answer that btw, we already know the answer with the absence of obese jews in those camps during the holocaust

This is like saying that you will become an intelligent person if we take away your internet access so that you can no longer spew your backwards rhetorics on d2jsp.

i'd probably resort to personal attacks too if medical science didn't conform to wishful thinking :/

are you by any chance one of those people who consider weight to be something that is not within your control?

i said it's difficult to quit hard drugs completely
quitting delicious greasy foods by comparison is much easier because there are delicious healthy alternatives that will satisfy your appetite

where is the confusion?

The confusion I guess is because I understand that is not how addiction works and that I guess you don't.

are you trying to contend that all (read as nearly all) people can lose weight? or just that its easy? im confused.

afaik every human body can burn fat, and every human has to eat. im a bit lost at your point, unless you're trying to simply say its hard.

Let me spell it out for you yet again: it is not about whether it's physically possible for a person to lose weight. It's about the fact that altering your eating habits is a challenging thing to do, and it's easy for mentally weak people to return to their old bad habits without even realizing it. Add to this, that many overweight people have quite low self esteem and other mental problems, and it becomes crystal clear that losing weight is really not as easy as you make it seem.

gonna stop you there because that is literally what this is about when i'm saying anyone can lose weight

any relapse or weight gain after weight loss is largely a psychological issue and not a physiological one

Then you're focusing on the wrong things. The challenge is not in burning fat when you undereat because that happens automatically without any conscious action. The challenge is in undereating, or in at least not overeating.

That's why we're all laughing at your face with every post you make. Nobody is denying any physics, but unlike you, most of us are aware of the fact that switching to healthy habits after 20 years of maintaining bad habits is not easy. At least, not for everyone.

Mostly true, I'll give you that. The exception to this isn't really relevant to the thread, although it does make it more challenging to keep up the discipline when you run into this issue.

sure sounds like it when you explicitly ask for scientific studies that say anyone can lose weight

as for eating habits, i'd like to think not everyone is as hopelessly lost as this women - though i'm certain i could crack her given the appropriate tools ^_^
