for starters, it has least of human values we should all live by. it's full with everything we nowadays consider sin by the same religion. none of it is a historical fact, but bunch of stories we should all learn from. except there's barely anything to learn from it. you could as well read Batman comic book and learn human values from there, and you'd prolly end up being better human than average christian. historically (not related to bible but to christianity itself) it did nothing but slow down the progress of human development.
read bhagavad gita. or don't. i couldn't care less whether you'll remain a retard or whether you'll decide to shed some light into your existence. they're literally the cradle of modern civilization, cradle of complexed mathemathics, chemistry, astrology, biology. they did "plastic" surgeries such as rhinoplasty before birth of christ, as well as explained detailly the theory of evolution later stolen by darwin. they used anesthetics in surgeries and medical procedures while christians were bitting cloth rags to scream into. their architecture was back then superior to what nations under christian development did 1500 years later, and their astrology claimed exact number of planets in solar system, distance between earth/sun/moon later confirmed by modern science while christians claimed earth is flat for like 1500 years . speaking of core values, you could learn more from first 50 pages of bhagavad gita than all the books of bible combined.
