It does not matter how large, small, meaningful, or arbitrary the gaps are. "I don't know therefore God" is not a convincing or logically valid argument.

I can, however, understand why lots of people would use that as an excuse to believe in something. Most people are dumb and weak. They need comfort because reality kind of sucks and is difficult to understand.

I used to get angry that people would be that weak, but now I understand it a bit more and just feel pitty. Life is hard, and God is a crutch that people lean on to get through it. But in many cases your crutch holds you back. Like how God is used to avoid the big problems in society instead of fixing them.
