I think entire academic literature have been written on the legal definition of pornography, and it boiled down to justice potter's famous words for the ruling precedent. I'm not sure obscenity laws are much of a parallel for prostitution though, since it goes beyond intent and into form and perception, which are hardly grounds for judging relationships. But that's all about what the definition of pornography is, not the difference in definition from prostitution, which I think is a little more obvious. If its printed or visual medium reproduced for appealing to prurient interests, its pornography. If its a sexual act performed for personal pleasure, its prostitution. Not the same thing. Now when you start drawing a line between pornography and artistic expression, whoopsie you just opened justice potter's can of worms and make the courts let out an exasperated sigh and say they don't want to deal with this shit
