that would be hilarious if he boots Rubio. especially when you add in that his daughter-in-law is being touted to replace that spineless swamp demon (r)ino Burr in NC in 2022 as well.

and yeah of course the swamp wants to crush him. you cant just beat them at their own game and call them losers and actually try to work for the American people without being punished!!!

omg trump the senator would be fucking hilarious. and the ruboto vs trump race would be legendary.

no joke it would be the ultimate troll. and the ultimate slap in the face to those idiots in Congress. I wouldn’t put it past him although i dont think it’s the best idea if he wants to consolidate power and influence.

Which "power" and "influence" is he going to "consolidate" by allowing the powers at be to maintain the spots he should rightfully hold (with his family)?

Not gonna lie here, I see no reason Trump should play nice if he expects himself and his family to remain in politics. And right now, simply for the future of his family, it seems like a safe bet that he probably should.

just think being the power behind the throne, as “kingmaker” is a better play. the initial discussion around this that took place here in December was the media conglomerate route. There is a huge opportunity to consolidate power looming there with faux trying to be msnbc/cnn lite and throwing away their viewers, talk radio talent void coming soon with rush limbaugh/michael savage/mark levin etc., all supporters of Pres Trump, getting older, and the new “righty” media which is sensationalist and attempts to be populist but is very sloppy and in the need of legitimate infrastructure and funding.

Obama has done the “kingmaker” route by staying in DC and actively criticizing his successor the entire time in office (wont even bother to get into what he did before leaving office). Literally no one has done this before in US political history when it comes to the presidency. Even Truman and Eisenhower, who basically hated each other, played nice after the latter succeeded the former. After his term concluded Slick Willie let his wife play token senator politician so he could ‘quitely’ chase skirts and write books, and GW Bush went back to his farm.

i see your point about having family in politics and don’t disagree that its a feasible route but not the one i think would work best for what he hypothetically wants to achieve

Okay... When Obama went out, nobody chased him or tried to indict him. Instead, they let him go on his way and utilize his federal influence to immediately purchase a multimillion dollar house. All good!

With Trump, they immediately tried parting shots against both Trump AND his supporters. He can't play kingmaker, because he and everyone who is voting for him are being demonized. He NEEDS to take the office he can easily win, AND he needs JR, who is charismatic as fuck, to take the other office. Trump has the opportunity to legitimately become the worst nightmare of the Congress, the people who've been trying to crucify him. It's a superb choice. Don't lie and deny it.

When Obama went out, neither his nor Clinton's supporters tried to storm the US Capitol in an attempt to overturn the certification of the election results by Congress. They also didn't spend months leading up to the election trying to plant the seeds of illegitimacy in the electoral process.

Trump and his followers brought this shit upon themselves.

yes the situations are different because the politicians are different. Obama got invited into the swamp; Trump crashed the party.

sure holding a few senate seats (lets say he wins one, DJT Jr wins one, and Lara Trump wins one) would really throw a curveball at Congress (well the senate) but if they arent potentially swing votes who cares. And even then I mean this is an unprecedented idea to have a Presidents family (much less any family for that matter!!) to hold 3 US Senate seats at the same time!

Manchin theoretically is the most powerful senator but he always votes (D) when it matters. because the (D)s arent stupid and dont step out of line unless it doesn’t matter.

I disagree that he cannot play “kingmaker”. His support hasnt waned (75 mill+) and there is rife opportunity to fill the void left by the gop establishment rinos and faux news etc. If the tides shift and a recession or very slow recovery happens in the next couple years it will be interesting to see what, if anything, he does.

This is an excuse and nothing more, and you know it. It's purely lazy.

We all remember the antifa attacks on the Trump rallies 2016. Leftist violence wasn't pursued. Why?

Let's juust not go that route, and try to remain intellectual, yes?
