Trump has repeatedly denounced white supremacists, as demonstrated by countless videos of him doing it; he is the first president to label the KKK as a terrorist organization; and he has been pushing through major prison reforms which tend to aid black men most. The implication of Kamala’s claim in the debate was predicated on a politically-motivated lie to race-bait and fear-monger in order to engender a fear in some small group of people, so that some number may be deceived into believing that he’s a nazi. If she actually thought he was a totalitarian white supremacist, she wouldn’t have wished him a speedy recovery from the virus. If the electorate thought he was even somewhat pro-nazi or in support of any such group, black likely voters wouldn’t be polling at 15%-24% for Trump, compared to Romney’s 5%. I so hope her emboldened lies fail to result in policy.
Trump has denounced white supremacy and neo-nazis a hundred times and joe biden and kamala harris have not denounced antifa even a single time and refuse to do so. But no voter listening to the debates is going to care or be swayed by those same tired lines being hurled back and forth
instead, Pence was ready with a canned answer of pointing out that Trump has jewish grandchildren. And that
will resonate with people more than just accusations and denials.
