Shame you gotta get in line and wait weeks or months inside of a hospital you cant leave to have simple surgeries
Um I was a hospital discharge planner for over two years and the same is true in the United States dawg. We had to treat many many people who were suicidal and in severe pain because of some medical condition they couldn't get treated because of rationing or because they got an appointment and its next year. I live in a city with several large hospital systems including the largest in the nation, and a university hospital that is in the top 50 in US in innovation....
The United States has the worse healthcare costs and outcomes in the US in many areas. Our system is not great. My current job title is utilization review manager....if you Google that you will see that I'm the guy who tells the doctors what is going to be paid for or not, then I get it paid for through the insurance company....my training has basically made me an MBA that can diagnose health conditions. I bring in all dollars to my department, and I have to explain all insurance denials, why the patient was denied care, and how to address them.
I'm an expert in what is actually possible in my system and it ain't pretty sometimes. And if I were to refer only in my system it might take me 6 months to a year to get you a neurology consultation with MRI if you needed it if you were outpatient. Its important to shop around on your own to get access.
