I see how you might think that is the case, but it's still conjecture.
Corbyn has had negative poll ratings consistently for years, whereas this is not the case with Sanders.
Also, policy-wise the American voter seems to be in favour of more left-leaning policies shown by the increase in support of single-payer.
While I disagree entirely with the Corbyn cultists attempting to blame this loss all on Brexit and not Corbyn and his abject leadership, it's still true that a (perceived) unclear position on Brexit was a factor for some Labour voters defecting to the Tories and Brexit party. This paradigm is specific to the UK and cannot be applied across the pond.
